Within this model client and therapist work together to identify and understand problems. Building awareness of the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviour is a crucial factor within this model. The approach usually focuses on difficulties in the here and now.
CBT is empowering in nature, as the outcome is aimed at enabling individuals to understand their problems / patterns and build their resources.
It has been repeatedly proven in research to be effective for a variety of problems including; depression, anxiety, anger, self-esteem, substance abuse, phobias, OCD.
